About the shipping schedule of kyu camera

Hello, this is Iori.
As previously announced, shipments to the earliest purchasers are being made in order of purchase 🚚
Among them, for those in the initial lot who still have not received their units, we would like to share the current situation and the outlook for future deliveries.

About the initial pre-orders
Initial pre-orders are for order numbers #1545–#1885 (orders placed by December 2024).
The initial plan was to deliver at least 340 units, but after mass-producing 500 units, 150 were excluded at the factory as defects, and after inspection in Kyoto, 90 out of 350 were rejected, leaving 240 units shipped. As a result, some initial pre-order customers, as well as later customers, are still waiting.About inventory
Since we have received inquiries, we’d also like to share the current inventory situation. The kyu cameras shown at Kyoto’s kyu space or in media articles are only samples or items that did not pass shipment quality control. Therefore, there is no surplus inventory; all customer orders are prioritized.
About kyu space
As mentioned above, the units at kyu space are mostly defective items from inspection or development samples, but you can actually try them in person.

Based on the issues after the first lot shipment and the feedback we received, we are working with development members and suppliers to improve.
For the next production, we plan to manufacture enough to deliver up to order numbers in the #2080 range.
The current target is mid-October for the next round of shipments.
